Non-discrimination policies
Within Washington University’s non-discrimination and harassment policy, the university prohibits the discrimination on the basis of “race, color, national origin, age, religion, sex (including sexual harassment and sexual assault), sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, veteran status, disability, or genetic information.
Gender-inclusive restrooms
Many building and residence halls on the WashU Danforth Campus offer gender-inclusive bathrooms.
Gender-inclusive housing
Gender-inclusive housing is an optional process that creates a space for all students who can benefit from or provide a welcoming, safe, and inclusive environment.
Kaleidoscope Living Learning Community
A student-created and student-led Living Learning Community (LLC) designed to create a safe and affirming space for LGBTQIA+ students, and to provide a greater sense of community to Wash U’s Queer, Trans, and Gender Expansive student population. This includes building community not only with fellow students, but with Queer faculty/staff and Wash U alum as well.
Preferred Name Policy
Washington University in St. Louis recognizes that many students prefer to use names other than their legal ones to identify themselves. You will find both the preferred name policy and how to update your name in your student record.
LGBTQIA+ healthcare and mental health resources
Habif Health & Wellness Center and the Center for Counseling & Psychological Services (CCPS) are passionate about providing high quality services in a caring environment that is affirming of all sexual orientations and gender identities.
